The main point that needs to be communicated to an outside audience is that mods are not simply minor tweaks or re-implementations of well known themes.

The page below is geared towards Oblivion and Morrowind mod players, hence it is lacking some background information that is well known by these players. More on this later.įor the lunch and beer crew (and other folks) that I met at the Austin GCC. Which means that there's a large business opportunity that has been largely untapped. It seems that very few people in the business realize how large modding can be. From my brief experience in attending the Austin Game Developers conference, modding is something that is very poorly appreciated in the gaming business. I'm interested in what I call "mega modding" i.e. And of course, world of warcraft playtime!

Main slowdown at this point is that I need to update all of the mod doc files to point to the new site and then upload them to one of the favored mod download sites. I'm in the process of rebuilding the site. Which I will work on as soon as I beat World of Warcraft. I would like a more permanent open source project management solution. My immediate plan is to continued to host docs here for those projects. I'm very pleased to see that several of my long time projects are being carried on by other folks now that I have retired. Well, probably I'll slow down once I have all 9 of my characters to level 80, with fully leveled professions, etc. I'm not sure it was a good thing for the hot springs managers to add internet connected, waterproof high rez PCs at the hot tub. News Flash: World of Warcraft is very addictive! Especially to somewhat obsessive monkey gods. I plan to post more about that later just as soon as I beat World of Warcraft. Rather I'm particularly interested in what I call "mega modding" a business model built specifically to foster/reward very heavy modding. I am considering going into the gaming business, but not in the usual way. I'm retired from Oblivion and Morrowind modding. For more info (and the all important Zookeeper's Warning) see The name is Wrye, like "Rye"! He likes to hang around in mountain springs along with all of the other snow monkeys, surrounded by his harem of "Lara" monkeys. His earthly form is that of a Japanese Snow Monkey. Wrye is the famous Monkey God of Modding (for Morrorwind and Oblivion games that is Wrye has to maintain a pose of some humility or the other gods get on his case). (No, I'm not in it, but I'm considering it.) See Gaming Business for that. In the future I may have a small amount of material on the gaming business. However, you'll also find several other minor and major mods here several of which are considered to be must have by many experienced players.
Morrowind players should jumMost viewers will find the Wrye Bash (Oblivion) and Wrye Mash (Morrowind) utilities to be of most interest. We apologize for the inconvenience our oversight has resulted.Wrye Musings primarily hosts my Morrowind and Oblivion mods, utilities and tech notes.
If you have already provoked Toris Saren into combat and you do not have a saved game you can load in addition to resetting the journal index you will need to apply these to console fixes after selecting Toris Saren in the console: The fix might need to be applied each time you load Morrowind (however it worked for me in testing). This will prevent Toris Saren from thinking you were sent by the Morag Tong to kill him and attacking you. To resolve your present situation you can open the console by pressing the tithe '~' key and type:
In the next release we will create new entries filtered for Morag Tong members that check if the player is not a member and give some sort of indifferent response. We will accept the blame for this one since LGNPC Vivec Redoran introduces the topic 'Toris Saren' that triggered the problem. The Unofficial Morrowind Patch/Morrowind Patch Project has corrected some of these bugs, but this is not one of them (at least not of version 1.6.4). Regretably, Bethesda was in the habit of leaving quest topics unfiltered for faction affiliation so if the player learned the topic it is possible to jumpstart the quest as you have. Presumably you do not have a saved game you wish to use or you just cannot resist speaking of Toris Saren in the presence of the Morag Tong.
